We are the school council and we represent the children's voices, giving all children at Wath Victoria the chance to share their ideas and have their say. We encourage everyone to think of great ideas to help the school to become an even greater place to be.
We hit the ground running in September with our new school council members and have a fantastic team of children who were elected democratically from each class. They all want to make big a difference within school. We meet regularly to discuss ideas and share information which we display in the school hall for everyone to see.
Here is our action plan, minutes from our meetings and important documents:
Last year we supported the governors and school leaders to make our playtimes more active and helped to organise school events like the Christmas and Summer Fairs, which were a huge success.
We have already started to consider some of the things we would like to do at school this year and have written our action plan. Please let us know if you have any interests, ideas or knowledge that we can use within our school. We aim to provide everyone with a range of fun, exciting opportunities.
We met John Healey, our local MP to discuss mental health and well-being in school and all the wonderful things that we have been up to - we had lots to celebrate! During local democracy week in October, we met local councillors to discuss issues which impact us in our local community. Our Chair and Vice-Chair then met councillors at our local park to discuss what we would like to see there.
If you have any local issues that you would like us to bring up in question time please let us know.
