Modern Foreign Languages
At Wath Victoria, we use Kapow Primary’s Spanish scheme of work to deliver Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) teaching in Key Stage 2. We focus on Spanish due to this being the chosen MFL at our predominant feeder school. The Kapow curriculum is fully aligned with the National Curriculum for Languages (2014), ensuring that pupils develop the skills of listening, speaking, reading, and writing in Spanish.

Through Kapow’s sequenced lessons, pupils build a strong foundation in language knowledge, including phonics, grammar, and vocabulary, while engaging in meaningful communication and cultural exploration. The scheme promotes progressive language acquisition, enabling children to express ideas with increasing confidence and independence as they move through KS2.
