Monday 18th May

Hello to you all from Miss Leech, Miss Moss and Mrs Nutley; we hope you are all safe and well. This week for your home learning, we have the following tasks:

1. Visit the white rose maths website and work through the Summer Term week 5 lessons and activities that are on there.

Year 3 children should access these online videoshttps://whiterosemaths.com/homelearning/year-3/

You no longer download the worksheets from the White Rose site, instead they are found below:

If you would like to do more maths learning, there are daily lessons on the BBC Bitesize Daily website too. Don’t forget that activities like baking and making often involve your maths skills – measuring, weighing, calculating amounts and calculating with time. These are all great maths skills to practise with your adults at home.

2. Reading - Parents please visit this link for information and ideas about how you can support reading at home.

Did you know that audible are now allowing free access to their children's book collection? Our reading for pleasure challenge is attached here. Short bursts of reading, or listening to others readers reading quality books is a really important way of maintaining children's literacy skills. Aim for 10-15 minutes reading daily if you can.

3. Remember to complete your two lessons of Bedrock every week. Staff are looking at who gets the green smiley face for doing just that!

4. Practising your timestables on TTRockstars is a must! Everyone needs to be speedy times tables experts by the time they get to the end of Y4 if they possibly can. Don't forget to log on and watch out for the next battle coming soon!

5. You have now been given access to the new Spelling Beats website. See your dojo messages for information. Practise your spellings 3 times this week.

6. English

This week's English is a reading task. You can find all the information you need here.

7. Science - For science this week, we would like you to become nature explorers. Can you create a bug hotel and investigate its occupants? We would love to see any photos or drawings of the bugs you find! Watch this video for ideas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OexxoXo9uFk

8. PSHE Mental Health Awareness Week - The theme for this week is kindness. Complete some of these tasks and think about what kindness means to you.

If you would like to extend your learning you can also google the BBC Bitesize lessons for your year group or the Oak Academy home learning website.

Please note that the White Rose, Oak Academy and BBC Bitesize websites are always much busier on a Monday morning and between 9-11am on other mornings. They become easier to access after this time, or later in the week. Please be patient and if you can, complete your learning, or download resources at a different time. There are literally millions of people accessing the websites. We have set you additional tasks not on these websites to help you should you have problems with these ones.

Thanks for your understanding.

We hope you enjoy your learning and would love to see what you get up to on dojo!
